The other patented mechanisms used on our knives :

Pusher-bolt:
A cylindrical and conical bolt, pushed by a spring, engages, perpendicularly, in a notch of the blade. It pushes it against the stop block, in an open or locked position : when in a locked position the blade does not move.
Square-lock:
A parallelipipedic bolt, pushed by a spring, engages perpendicularly in a notch of the blade and pushes it against the stop block, in an open or closed position - it is a powerful blocking. BENCHMADE Company is licensed
Inner-lock:
A parallelipipedic bolt, pushed by a spring, engages in parallel in a notch of the blade and pushes it against the stop block, in an open and closed position - it is a safety blocking when carried in the pocket. A French company is licensed.
The back spring locks the blade in the 2 positions open and closed. An opener pushes the blade to the position and locks it : it is it is the OFOC Patent (One Finger Opening and Closing). BOKER Company is licensed.
When you turn the button, in first the back spring get free the blade and after push the blade in final direction.

STEELS : we use only stainless steels
- ANSI 420 is used on the Hike knife
- ANSI 425 is used on the Laser knife
- SANDVIK 12C27 is used on the Xsar

Assembly:
All the blades are assembled with Teflon washers when it is necessary. Indeed, when the handle is made of wood or plastic, this is not necessary since there is no risk of seizing. This is the case of the hike knives. The screw-axis can be tightened in order to adjust the friction and to loosen the blade.

Maintenance:
The untreated wooden handles, like olive-wood, must be regularly oiled. Other woods, like the boxwood, the green oak-wood, the violet-wood must be waxed, varnished, be vitrified. The handle, even treated, should not remain in water - the blade must be cleaned with a sponge and dried with a cloth.

Bastide warranty :
Bastide warranty to its customers that the bought knife will be free from defects in materials used and in its work of assembly. This warranty covers replacement parts and labor.
The knife must be sent, packed, be insured and with the description of the problem.
The guarantee covers the replacement of the components found defective and the manpower. The Bastide guarantee does not include: the fair wear and tear, resharpening of the blade, damages caused by carelessness, bad maintenance, disassembling by a person other than a Bastide employee, the cost of the knife sent back.

Advice:
A knife has just one use: the one to cut. The compliance with this gold rule confers an eternal life to it ! It is strongly disadvised using the knife like a screwdriver, a hammer, an axe, or a lever.
