The steeling of our knives is done with 15° on each side of the blade by a machine.

With the carbide sharpener, you will do easily the same steeling on your knives.

Natural stones are no longer hard enough for sharpenning modern steel.

The home sharpening steel can be used to sharp Z40C13 and 12C27.

The sharpening ceramic can can be used to sharp cryogenic hardened 12C27 and HSS steels.

Wood maintenance :

The untreated wood handles, like olivewood, must be regulary greased with kitchen oil. Other wood, like boxwood, green oak, violet can greased with personal mix of the cabinetmaker (49% of linseed oil, 49% of turpentine, 2% of quick drying oil), can be shined (beeswax or carnauba wax), or varnished (polyurethane), or vitrified. the handle, even treated, doesn’t have to stay in water - the blade must be cleaned with a sponge and wiped with a dry goods. Not to use the green part of the kitchen’s sponge since it’s with a similar product that we give the satin finished aspect of our blades.

Coverage :

Bastide insure to its customer bases that the bought knife will be free from defects in used materials like in its work of assembly. Bastide will repair or replace, without expensives, according to its diagnosis, any knife returned under garantee (term : 1 year) and recognized defective by Bastide. the knife must be sent, packed, assured and accompanied by a description of the problem. The guarantee covers the replacement of the components found defective and the labour, the return (recommanded) is on the customer’s account. The Bastide garantee don’t include : the normal wear, the blade sharpening, dammages causes by the negligence, bad maintenance, the ageing of the vegetable and animal plates, disassembling by a person other than an Bastide’s employee.
